My most ambitious clothing alteration yet

Last summer I bought a dress on TradeMe.  It turned out to fit OK, but to hang like a sack :-(

I consulted with my neighbour, Shirley, a keen sewer.  She consulted with her friend Noelene, who used to work as head seamstress at a high end made-to-measure clothing store.  The verdict: I needed to add two vertical darts to the waistline.

By this point it was heading into autumn and I had other things to do, so nothing happened for many months.  But last week I finally got stuck into it.  Many pins and much measuring later, here is the final result!  It's not perfect, but the dress has a lot more shape to it than before, and seems to basically work.  I'm looking forward to wearing it soon :-)
